Our Ethical Standards & Client Commitment

A written commitment to the principles that guide every decision I make and every engagement I take on.

Trust is the foundation of any consulting relationship. These ethical standards are not a marketing page — they are the operating principles I hold myself to on every engagement, every day. If I ever fall short of these standards, I want to know about it.

Client-First Principle

The client’s best interest comes before my revenue. Always. This means I recommend solutions that serve you even when they reduce my scope. I tell you when I am not the right fit. I suggest competitors when they are better positioned. I never propose unnecessary work to inflate a bill.

This principle guides every decision: methodology choice, timeline, team composition, and pricing. If a decision does not pass the “is this genuinely best for the client?” test, I do not make it.

Confidentiality

Every engagement starts with a mutual non-disclosure agreement at no cost. Your proprietary information, financial data, strategic plans, customer information, and internal operations are protected with the same care I would want for my own business.

  • Client data is never shared with third parties without explicit written consent.
  • Case studies and testimonials are only published with written client approval.
  • I do not use one client’s proprietary insights in work for another client.
  • Digital security best practices apply to all client communications and documents.

Conflict of Interest Management

I take conflicts of interest seriously. Before accepting any engagement, I evaluate whether existing or past relationships could create a conflict. If a conflict exists or even appears to exist, I disclose it immediately and work with the client to determine the appropriate path forward.

  • I do not serve competing businesses in the same market simultaneously without full disclosure and consent.
  • I do not accept commissions, referral fees, or kickbacks from vendors, partners, or service providers I recommend.
  • If a business opportunity arises that I want to pursue personally or with another client, I disclose it to all affected parties.
  • I maintain the right to decline any engagement that presents an ethical conflict, even if financially attractive.

Transparency & Honest Communication

I communicate with clients the way I want to be communicated with: directly, honestly, and without spin. Bad news arrives immediately, not after I have figured out how to soften it. If a strategy is not working, I say so and propose alternatives. If I make a mistake, I own it and fix it.

My proposals include clear scope, pricing, and assumptions. I do not use vague language to create wiggle room. Every deliverable has defined success criteria so there is no ambiguity about what “done” means.

Quality & Competence

I only accept engagements I am qualified to deliver. If a project requires expertise outside my competence, I either partner with a qualified specialist or decline the work. I invest continuously in my own education and skills to ensure my clients receive current, evidence-based advice.

Every deliverable meets the same standard: rigorous analysis, clear communication, and practical actionability. I do not deliver academic exercises. I deliver tools you can use.

Fair Pricing & Financial Integrity

My pricing philosophy is built on fairness and transparency. I charge what I believe my work is worth, not what the market will bear. I do not inflate prices because a client can afford it. I do not discount quality because a client has a tight budget.

  • All pricing is disclosed upfront in writing.
  • Invoices are accurate, timely, and detailed.
  • I do not charge for work not performed.
  • Unused retainer funds are refunded promptly.

Accountability & Feedback

I welcome feedback at any time, from anyone. If you are unhappy with any aspect of my work, I want to hear about it directly and immediately. I respond to concerns within 24 hours and work to resolve them within the same week.

Every engagement concludes with a debrief where I ask for honest feedback about what worked and what did not. This is not performative — I use this feedback to improve my practice continuously.

Commitment to These Standards

These standards are not aspirational. They are contractual. Every engagement agreement incorporates these principles by reference. If you believe I have violated any of them, you can raise the issue directly with me, and I commit to addressing it transparently.

Consulting is a relationship business, and relationships require trust. These standards are how I earn and keep yours.

Experience the Difference

Ethical consulting is not a slogan — it is how I work every day. Let us put these principles to work for your business.
