How We Work: Ali’s Consulting Process
From our first conversation to the final deliverable — a transparent, repeatable process designed for results.
Great consulting is not magic. It is a repeatable process of discovery, analysis, strategy, and execution. I have refined this process over 17+ years and hundreds of engagements. It works because it puts your outcomes first at every stage.
Discovery
Understanding Your Business from the Inside Out
Every engagement begins with a deep discovery phase. We schedule a free, no-obligation conversation where I listen to your challenges, goals, and context. I ask the hard questions: What is working? What is not? What does success look like in measurable terms? Who are your customers, competitors, and key stakeholders?
The discovery phase typically takes 1–2 hours across one or two meetings. By the end, I have a clear picture of whether I can help and, if so, what a successful engagement looks like.
Proposal
A Clear, Detailed Plan with Transparent Pricing
If we identify a fit, I craft a written proposal that outlines the scope of work, deliverables, timeline, and pricing. Every proposal includes: the specific problem we are solving, the methodology I will use, key milestones and checkpoints, the total investment broken down by phase, and success criteria so we both know what “done” looks like.
You receive the proposal within 3–5 business days of discovery. I encourage you to review it with your team, ask questions, and push back on anything that does not align. We refine together before moving forward.
Engagement
Structured Collaboration with Regular Checkpoints
Once we agree on scope and terms, the real work begins. I operate with a structured cadence: a kickoff session to align stakeholders, regular check-ins (weekly or bi-weekly depending on scope), milestone reviews to track progress against plan, and a shared workspace where you can see deliverables as they develop.
You will never wonder what I am working on. Communication is direct, frequent, and honest. If I hit a roadblock or see something that changes the approach, you hear about it immediately.
Delivery
Tangible Outputs You Can Use Immediately
Every engagement produces concrete deliverables: strategic plans, financial models, go-to-market roadmaps, operational playbooks, or executive recommendations. These are not academic exercises. Every deliverable is designed to be actionable on the day it lands.
I provide implementation support to ensure your team can execute without me as a crutch. Knowledge transfer is built into every phase, because the goal is to make you self-sufficient, not dependent.
Results & Follow-Through
Measuring Impact and Planning Next Steps
After delivery, we reconvene to measure results against the success criteria defined in the proposal. Did we hit the targets? What unexpected outcomes emerged? What should we do differently next time? This debrief is honest and unfiltered.
Many clients continue with a lighter retainer for ongoing advisory, or engage me for the next phase of their growth journey. Others graduate fully self-sufficient — which I consider the best outcome. Either way, I remain available for follow-up questions and guidance.
The Timeline
A typical full engagement cycle runs 6–12 weeks from kickoff to final deliverable, depending on complexity. Shorter strategic sprints (2–3 weeks) are available for focused problems. Ongoing retainer engagements continue month-to-month with no long-term commitment.
